"Eric Garcetti - LA's Dishonest Crock of Chowder" by Daniel Guss
@TheGussReport - Let’s start the day with a bold prediction: LA Mayor Eric Garcetti's nomination to be U.S. Ambassador to India will go down in flames due to his habitual dishonesty, including allegedly lying under oath in both civil litigation and while giving testimony to the U.S. Senate for that nomination.
It is doubtful that Garcetti will be confirmed by the entire Senate, considering the fact that one of its Democrat members, New Mexico Senator Ben Ray Luján, recently suffered a stroke and may not be able to vote in person if and when his nomination comes up for a vote. But before a vote is even taken, look either for President Joe Biden to yank the nomination or maybe even Garcetti deciding to withdraw from consideration on his own.
That’s code for Garcetti being told to withdraw his name from consideration to save whatever is left of his holding-his-breath-until-he-is-blue-in-the-face, face.
That’s because Garcetti’s lie about being maskless at last weekend’s NFC Championship Game at Sofi Stadium in Inglewood was so obnoxiously untruthful, he was both the opening and closing joke on last Friday’s episode of “Real Time with Bill Maher” on HBO.
But small lies often mask serious ones.
Garcetti’s congenital lying is fueled by his hypochondria, megalomania and a heaping portion of bat shit crazy, packaged in a tightly wrapped and neurotic man-child.
Just some of the latest examples:
This morning, the LA Times reports that his former communications director Naomi Seligman says that Garcetti should be charged with perjury for some of those lies. As a Garcetti insider, she saw first-hand what most people in his sphere have long known; Garcetti will lie for any reason or no reason at all.
All along, Garcetti was continually endorsed by the Los Angeles Times Editorial Board and allegedly protected by the newspaper’s reporters.
Excluding So Cal politicos and Garcetti’s fan-boys, fan-girls and, if applicable, fan-non-binary peeps at the Times, when was the last time anyone said that Eric Garcetti is really getting things done! It’s a good thing he’s our Mayor!
Has anyone ever said that?
Then there’s last week’s story published by Town Hall, where Brian Darling gives his take on why Garcetti should not become a United States Ambassador.
So what’s worse?
The fact that Garcetti is now more than ever meme fodder or even CNN Politics saying his lies are “ridiculous?”
Personally, my column was first to expose Garcetti for covering up fraud exposed by LAFD Deputy Chief - Fire Marshall John Vidovich, who subsequently got a nearly $1 million payout in his whistleblower retaliation lawsuit. In that case, Garcetti sicced his flunkies (Chief of Staff) Ana Guerrero and (Public Safety Deputy Mayor) Jeff Gorell to allegedly further the Mayor’s false narrative in exchange for a bundle of union dough to advance his political aspirations. LA Weekly’s Hillel Aron capably picked up the LAFD story with a deep dive from there. Since then, Guerrero was suspended and lost her Chief of Staff title (but tellingly not her salary) for cyber-bullying.
Garcetti even exploited false dog and cat kill and adoption statistics in his deadly animal pounds until my column exposed them. Then, Garcetti cowardly (and quietly) reversed those numbers with the quiet blessing of those who helped him hide the truth: City Controller Ron Galperin (who now wants to be California State Controller) Paul Koretz (who now wants to be LA City Controller) and then-City Council President Herb Wesson, who now sits at home rather than on the LA County Board of Supervisors, hoping his “best friend” Jose Huizar doesn’t cut a plea deal with the feds in exchange for puking everything he knows about City Hall corruption.
Don’t think that can’t happen, either.
Oh, glory be the day that we see Garcetti indicted for perjury or his hand forced into the cowardly political claim that he decided to withdraw his name from consideration to become U.S. Ambassador to India..…in order to spend more time with his family.
Because that might be an - alleged - lie to watch unravel, too.
