EXCLUSIVE: "Federal Judge in Brian K. Williams Case HAS Recused Himself" by Daniel Guss
But the move, which I called for this morning, raises new questions
This morning, I explained why U.S. District Judge André Birotte, Jr should recuse himself from the Brian K. Williams case involving the former Deputy Mayor to Karen Bass and his now-admitted threat to bomb Los Angeles City Hall.
I can exclusively report that Judge Birotte has now recused himself.
A U.S. Department of Justice spokesperson, responding to my inquiry, emailed, “Judge Birotte, who has known (Brian Williams) for many years, has recused himself. A new judge will be assigned to this case. We expect a new change-of-plea hearing will be scheduled in a week or two.”
It is unclear why the recusal did not happen until today.
Draw your own conclusions, as I have.
Stay tuned.
