"Ted Lieu, Is Everything Okay?" by Daniel Guss
@TheGussReport - Ted Lieu had an impressive start to his life in America. The Taiwan-born Congressman, 52, graduated from Stanford University and Georgetown Law. A Southern California politician since 2005, Lieu was first elected to Congress in 2015 and loves a good joust on Twitter, as well.
Now, we will not hold the lawmaker responsible for a photo he took with now-convicted serial-killer Ed Buck. Even former First Lady Rosalynn Carter had photos taken with one, namely, John Wayne Gacy. It’s not reasonable to expect public figures to know the background of each hoi polloi photo-seeker.
If anything, these photos show they are among the people, so to speak.

In fact, we find it charming that Lieu shared a photo apparently organizing his sock drawer. Nothing wrong with that, as organizational skills are useful in almost any pursuit.

We also think that it’s a lot of hooey that the Twitter-verse is upset that the Congressman went on vacations, plural, and attended an NFL game at Sofi Stadium while maskless, but used the pandemic as an excuse to not travel for a Congressional vote. Those complainers are just jealous and remote voting is allowed in the House.
Kudos to the Congressman for having his priorities set and playing by the rules.
But what we do want to know is what was going on when Lieu Tweeted laudatory thoughts about President Joe Biden, citing American job creation statistics from a dubious Nigerian blog that said American independence was first declared on July 4, 1774?
Or that President “Buden” is the 45th president.
We’re no math majors, but if we got our guzintas right, 45 was President Donald Trump.
We’d like to think that Congressman Lieu reads sources he cites before Tweeting them to his impressive and impressionable 1.6 million followers and reached out to his D.C. press office for clarification.
We’ll keep you posted.
